Have you prayed for something for a LOOOONNNGGG time and finally you received what you wanted. However, soon after, within the next 3 to 6 months, you began to complain, ask for something else, believe the grass is greener on the other side, or become jealous over someone else's opportunity, current situation, etc. Well, my friend you have become distracted.
Therefore, be aware of distractions in your life! If you don't now what they are, ask God to show you them right now!!!!Your distractions will open the doors of confusion, indecisiveness, jealousy, impatience, discontentment, anger, disobedience, and setback. The Israelites had quickly forgotten about God's goodness shortly after leaving Egypt (place of bondage). Once they entered into the wilderness, their praise and worship transformed into bickering and whining.
In Psalm 106, the bible states in verses 13 KJV, They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel . . . . . .
What ungratefulness! Take Heed! Receive the Warning from this example! Anytime we begin to have unappreciative attitudes, most likely we'll make detrimental mistakes. We tend to forget what God has delivered us from and go on a "Woe is Me" episode. Why? We start to rely on our own understanding, in what to do and how to do it; which is never a good idea, because we get impatient.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thin own understanding. In all thy way acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path. Proverbs 3: 5- 6
Let's go back in the Old Testament. Did not Sarah (Abraham's wife) decided to take matters in her own hands because of impatience. She told Abraham conceive with a child with another woman. Now, God had told her, a son would come from her body, but rather than WAIT, she complicated things in a major way. Read Genesis 21.
Back to our main example, in Psalm 106, verse 14, the bible states, "But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert. What did they ask for? Food and water ( Exodus 19). Plus, a false god known as the golden calf. (Exodus 32:7-8). Really?
What are you asking for in your discontentment and forgetfulness? Are you allowing God to lead you in the destiny He has for based upon trust? Are you fearing the new places God has planned or your life? Are you becoming restless on your journey? Are you idolizing a false gods due to the influence others around you? Are you rebelling against God?
In conclusion, we can't FORGET God's work, PERIOD! Our forgetfulness is a subtle tactic, Satan will use against us. We must PRAISE the Lord, so we will simply remember ALL God has done for us!
What is God telling you to do now? If we do not see the manifestation of His promises we must believe and accept the waiting period. This doesn't mean we are just sitting on our behinds and twiddling our thumbs. We should actively praise, worship, pray, study the bible, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ during every moment in our lives. Receive God's instruction, learn His principles. Recognize consecration.
Our God is faithful forever! HALLELUJAH!
God remembers His holy promise, and Abraham His servant. Psalm 105:42
Be blessed in Jesus name!
